Messages against mobbing

Monday 1 July 2019

Last Friday, the day care centre of Buschdorf, run by Caritas Jeunes et Familles, organised an anti-mobbing dinner for children and their parents as part of the project "Do not mob me - FREE the chandelier".

Indeed, throughout the month of June, the primary school children worked together, with the help of their educators, on the issue of mobbing and cybermobbing and came up with messages they would like to express on the subject.

Mobbing is a key theme in all the structures of Caritas Jeunes et Familles. The developmental consequences of child victims are significant. Unfortunately, it is difficult to detect mobbing problems. Hence the importance of prevention and especially of showing children that they can talk to their parents," explained Carina Gonçalves, Director of Caritas Jeunes et Familles.

Mobbing is a very present reality for many children. It is important to make children [...] aware that they are jointly responsible for the well-being of others", adds Kim Agostini, head of the Buschdorf day care centre.

As part of the project, anti-mobbing messages were collected, formatted and presented during the dinner, including hanging on the chandeliers and dishes that were served. The children named this presentation "The forest of values ".

Caritas Jeunes et Familles thanks all those who participated in this project, including the teachers who helped create the candlesticks.
