Tuesday 6 August 2024
In response to the crisis facing the Fondation Caritas Luxembourg and the Caritas Accueil et Solidarité A.s.b.l., a crisis committee was set up on 28 July 2024.
This crisis committee is chaired by Mr Christian Billon and is supported from an operational point of view by PwC Luxembourg.
The aim of the Crisis Committee is to take all necessary measures to ensure that the entities can continue to operate and to restore confidence with all stakeholders.
To ensure this, the Crisis Committee, with the approval of the Boards of Directors, has decided to create two new structures to accommodate the activities and employees:
The modalities for the creation of these structures as well as the takeover of all agreements will be defined in the coming days and will be presented to all stakeholders. These entities will be part of the international Caritas network, as before.
The objective of these entities is to take over the activities and employees from September in structures that will be able to benefit from the confidence of donors and the general public, leaving the Fondation Caritas Luxembourg and Caritas Accueil et Solidarité A.s.b.l. to finalise the necessary investigations.
Mr Christian Billon is currently in constructive discussions with Prime Minister Luc Frieden on the continuation of activities which, through these two new structures, will enable a rapid return to stability for employees and beneficiaries.
Information will be given to employees in the coming weeks. Salaries for August will be paid and transfers will be carried out in collaboration with employees.
