Temporary accommodation solution found for 28 young people

Caritas Luxembourg hereby wishes to inform you that following the fire which broke out in its structure housing 28 young people on Wednesday night, a solution for accommodation until the summer holidays has been found in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, the Luxembourg Red Cross and the municipality of Contern.

The young people will be transferred today. The young people will have the week of the school holidays to get their bearings and Caritas Luxembourg to organise the final arrangements and the new community life.

By the end of the summer, the young people will be divided into smaller living groups. Caritas Luxembourg is already looking for premises in the north of the country that can accommodate living groups of up to 9 or 10 people.

Caritas Luxembourg would like to thank the entire rescue team, the administration of the municipality of Lac de la Haute Sûre and its socio-educational team for their exemplary response on the night of the fire, as well as the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, the Luxembourg Red Cross and the administration of the municipality of Contern for their support at this difficult time.
