Caritas Luxembourg sends "warmth" to Ukraine

Thursday 22 December 2022

The first convoy of 10 electric generators from Caritas Luxembourg left yesterday for Ukraine.

The aim is to provide various Ukrainian hospitals, medical centres and ambulances with electrical generators so that they can continue to treat patients. The generators are also intended for internally displaced persons camps where people are likely to suffer from the cold this winter. The beneficiary medical centres and refugee camps are spread across the country and have been selected by local partners. The convoy will buy more generators along the way. In all, some 15 generators will be distributed by this first convoy. Generators will also be distributed to medical centres in the conflict zone. Specialised teams will take over the delivery of the generators.

We wish Philippe Jacobs and Patrick Zimmermann good luck in their mission.

This is not the only convoy that is leaving, a second convoy will leave next week.

This first convoy was made possible thanks to the donations received by Caritas Luxembourg, as well as the support of Paul Wurth and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and of course the commitment of Philippe and Patrick!

A big thank you!
