Training

Continuing vocational training is one of the components of Caritas Luxembourg's work to promote employment.

A large part of its offering concerns non-formal education and targets staff working in out-of-school care facilities (crèches, childcare centres etc.). The recent introduction of the "Concept d’Action Général" (General Action Concept) means these centres have to continuously improve the quality of their work and to implement new concepts such as multilingualism and inclusion.  To be able to do this, continuing training for supervisory teaching staff is essential! Moreover, it is the supervisory staff itself who is requesting the opportunity to acquire more skills in these new areas.  In order to do this, Caritas Luxembourg can rely on the field experience of Caritas Jeunes et Familles.

In addition to training in the basics of education and childcare, training is also provided in the areas of multilingualism, fields of action and cooperation in non-formal education.

The content of the training is aligned with the official criteria of the Service National de la Jeunesse, whose remit is to implement and monitor statutory quality standards. The training is offered in various languages (see headings)

Training courses and other educational tools are also designed and offered for other sectors such as refugees and homelessness.

The continuing training programme “Bases de l’éducation et de l’acceuil d’enfants” (BEA, or Basics of Education and Childcare) is designed for staff who have no qualifications in education and childcare services (crèches, childcare and day care centres etc.). In the process, they can also be accredited to become a parental assistant.

This continuing training is accredited by the Ministère de l’Éducation nationale, de l’Enfance et de la Jeunesse and some modules by the Service National de la Jeunesse.

Admission requirements for the training course:

  • To be employed on a fixed-term or permanent contract with an education (also valid: CIE/CRE contracts in collaboration with ADEM - the Luxembourg employment office);
  • To be at least 18 years old at the time of starting the course;
  • To speak at least one of the country's working languages (Lux/French/German)
