Work and occupational activities

Integrating deprived and socially excluded people through work is an important aspect of Caritas Luxembourg's activities.

Having an occupation enables deprived and socially excluded people to fight boredom, but also to come out of isolation, learn how to live in a group, show other people but especially themselves that they are capable of doing things, and thus to feel valued.

At the same time, they acquire new skills and achieve a more stable psycho-social situation.

For some of them, the occupational activities offered by Caritas Luxembourg are a springboard to other work options, and there is nothing to stop them reaching the mainstream job market.

Every year, around one hundred people are given occupations at Caritas Luxembourg as part of an initiative to promote employment, mostly at the Atelier Thérapeutique d'Ehlerange. Around fifteen people work in the Kitchen, Reception and Maintenance team.
