Towards more welcoming centres
In its living communities, Caritas Luxembourg accommodates children and teenagers whose families are experiencing acute crisis situations, and whose parents can no longer cater for their basic needs. The living communities offer them a structured environment until their parents can resume their role.
Whether they need to stay on a short-term basis or for a longer period, the children and teenagers placed in these life groups need to feel happy there, with a bedroom where they can retreat when they want to be alone and which they can customise as they wish, a garden where they can get some fresh air and relax, games and playthings, and for the older children, computers for them to do their homework, etc.
For them to feel happy and to be able to flourish in an environment that is alien to them, it is essential to meet these material needs.
