Become an animator!
Monday 19 October 2020
Young Caritas is pleased to announce the release of its 2020/2021 catalogue dedicated to training for the certificate of animator.
Every year, dozens of young people from 15 years old are trained by Young Caritas to work with children, whether it is for play afternoons or summer camps. A large proportion of the young people who take part in these trainings plan to work with children later on, either as educators or as teachers, and wish to gain first experiences. Others participate because they enjoy the contact with children. Still others participate because of the beautiful friendships that are built up among the animators. The atmosphere is always friendly. Finally, some participate because they have beautiful memories of their summer camps and want other children to also have moments that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
Several levels of certificate are possible: activity assistant, leader, camp manager or trainer. The training courses last between 25 and 150 hours. After each training course, the young person receives his or her certificate from the Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth.
Through the training courses for the animator's certificate, the young people learn to take responsibility and can then work with children and young people, volunteer in various activities, develop all kinds of games and activities, etc.
If you are interested, do not hesitate to consult the training catalogue on the website www.youngcaritas.lu and to contact us: formations@youngcaritas.lu.
At Young Caritas, it is also possible to get involved without an animator's certificate by participating, for example, in the activities of the Spillmobil or the solidarity volunteering programme, by trying out the "Try & More" workshops for young volunteers or by setting up your own project with the support of Young Caritas.
