Caritas Luxembourg aid arrives in Moldova and Eastern Ukraine

Caritas Luxembourg's aid is taking shape.

Thanks to the first funds released, food, water and hygiene products have been purchased and are being distributed to the refugees upon their arrival at the Moldovan border. In addition, Caritas Luxembourg's local partner, Caritas Moldova, has taken care of about 50 Ukrainian refugees who arrived by plane at Chisinau airport yesterday. A Caritas Luxembourg doctor is on his way to the Moldovan border to coordinate Caritas Luxembourg's aid on the spot.

A second part of the funds already released by Caritas Luxembourg will be distributed in Eastern Ukraine via its partner Caritas Ukraine.

The distribution of food is made difficult by the situation on the spot and the fact that the partner's male employees and volunteers have been requisitioned for the defence of the country. Nevertheless, the distribution continues.
