Enabling homeless people to become active and regain self-esteem is one of the objectives of Caritas Luxembourg. Thanks to the establishment of a new kitchen-workshop at the Centre Ulysse, culinary activities can now be organized there. These will allow homeless people to spend moments of relaxation, but also of learning and resocialization. Drees & Sommer planned and implemented the construction site free of charge, while LuxairGroup financed the material.
LuxairGroup has been supporting the activities and services of Caritas Luxembourg for years. In 2019 and 2020, it is mainly homeless people who will benefit from their social commitment: offering sandwiches and soft drinks, distributing hygiene, beauty and well-being articles, providing refrigerators, distributing brioches during confinement, organising a CV writing workshop, and today, setting up this kitchen. Other workshops, such as a cooking and nutrition workshop are in the planning stages.
Drees & Sommer has chosen to support the Centre Ulysse as part of its social project, organized for its 50th anniversary. The hours of planning and coordination of the kitchen-workshop site were graciously donated by the company. In addition, Drees & Sommer is planning to organize a culinary event at the Centre Ulysse, as soon as conditions permit.
Caritas Luxembourg would like to warmly thank LuxairGroup and Drees & Sommer on behalf of all the homeless people who, thanks to their support, will be able to invest in a new occupation that will give them motivation and consideration.
Your donation is essential to ensure the continuity of Caritas Luxembourg's actions in the service of the poor.
